What is LEAF?
The Lands End Area Forum (LEAF) is a community led group, established in 2004 to work on the Market and Coastal Towns initiative (MCTi). The information resulting from the project was used to inform a community ‘vision’ for the future of the area.
LEAF’s key projects have been the Market and Coastal Towns initiative and The Living History Project (qv), drawing in to the Lands End area over £100,000 in funding. It has also worked on and assisted with smaller projects and makes its data freely available to anyone seeking funding and/or evidence for the need for their projects.
LEAF is represented on the West Cornwall Local Action Group (WCLAG) which derives its funding from Europe and the UK Government. Talks are in progress (June 2011) about access to other large funds.
The Lands End area is a Priority Area for LAG funding. Please see www.sw-ruralgateway.info for more information on rural funding. LEAF has encouraged applications for assistance from the WCLAG from both voluntary groups and the business sector.
